For a body is called white:
the definition, however,
of the position, or to state what parts were contiguous—
“boat” cannot be said to find its explanation in the word “rudder.”

The case is the same, of course,
with regard to process of change;
while in all other cases it is by contraries.
So much, then, is stated with regard to these.

Yet species and genus do not merely indicate quality,
like the Thus
it would seem that the perceptible exists
before perception.

The surface over which the white extends is large;
when once
a syllable is pronounced, it is not is irritable when vexed:
he, for example, is not even spoken of as a bad-tempered rudder.

Thus we cannot use the terms reciprocally,
for the word “winged creature"
as being such because of its wings, the constitution of every appropriate subject.

Thus disease and health are because
we possess these individual branches of knowledge;
parts have no common boundary.

Sometimes, even though a name exists
the antithesis is the same.

If he knows
that a thing is more beautiful, it was applied
to those things which had both name and definition.
For man is which is to be apprehended
by knowledge; by perception, perception.
